Join Victoria Hellum at SCP for mulled wine, mince pies and a masterclass in creating a Staghorn Fern centre piece or mounted ‘living wall art’. In this workshop, you will be guided through the process of planting a Staghorn Fern in a rustic wooden board.
Staghorn Ferns have earned the nickname ‘Vegan Antlers’ due to the antler-like fronds that grow out from the centre of the plant. These ferns are ‘epiphytes’ meaning they grow on the surface of other plants and take nutrients from the air. This makes them excellent candidates for attaching to wooden boards, as they require little root space to survive.
The workshop includes all the materials and the hands-on assembly instructions necessary to complete your piece. You will also receive plant care instructions to keep your new best ‘frond’ in tip top condition.
