Kick starting the day we have Victoria from Plant Joy coming along to teach you how to create a piece of living wall art by mounting your own Staghorn Fern to a wooden board ready to take away and pop up at home!

As well as Fern mounting and swapping we are going to be joined by the wonderful Caro Langton from botanical duo Studio RoCo. Caro will be chatting about RoCo’s new book ‘Root, Nurture, Grow’, how she started out in the plant world and why propagation is the best way of sharing and growing your plant collection. There will be a Q&A at the end of the talk for any propagation questions!

Mounted Staghorn Fern Workshop

In this relaxed and informal workshop you will be guided through the process of mounting a Staghorn Fern to a wooden board complete with built in hook ready to hang at home.

These Staghorns look stunning when wall mounted to show off their antler like fronds to maximum effect.

The workshop includes all materials and hands on assembly instructions you need to create your own ‘living wall art’

Staghorn Ferns (Platycerium) are ‘epiphytes’ meaning they grow in their natural habitat attached to a host plant as a base and take nutrients from the air. This makes them excellent candidates for mounting on to a wooden board as they require little root space to survive. During the workshop we will also talk about plant care instructions so you can keep your new best ‘frond’ in tip top condition.

Includes all materials, suitable for all levels – no experience required!
